About The Hospitality Institute (THI) - VET by EHL


The Hospitality Institute (THI) - VET by EHL was created to fill the need for trained hospitality professionals on the continent by employing the VET by EHL vocational training model. The Vocational Education & Training (VET) licensing program enables learning centers and organizations to implement ready-made Swiss hospitality training programs, thereby addressing two of the biggest challenges that tourism-developing nations face today: training qualified staff and contributing to long-term employment growth in service sectors.


About the VET by EHL structure

Under our VET licensing model, to obtain the Professional Diploma (in Culinary, Food and Beverage, Hotel Administration or Rooms Division) students must complete three certificates, requiring a total of 18 months of alternating courses and internships. These diploma programs can be applied to higher education programs anywhere in the world.

  • Foundation Certificate: 6 months (80% on the job + 20% theory)
  • Intermediate Certificate: 6 months (80% on the job + 20% theory)
  • Advanced Certificate: 6 months (80% on the job + 20% theory)
